Any opinions on Central Vac powerheads? I’m hoping to find one that really sucks. No I mean one that doesn’t suck, no, I mean oh, you know what I mean. Any opinions?

Just had a Beam model # 199 delivered yesterday, should have it roughed in soon but will not be using it for months at the rate I'm building. Anyhow the people I bought mine from said they all inhale :) like crazy, the difference in price usually is based on noise. I thought the prices of these units were very reasonable but they get you on the attachments. I paid $700 for my unit, outlets. wires, pipe, vacpan ect. But my attachments are a additional $299. Still not bad though.
Good luck
Roy
Yep, attachments and accessories are where their profit margin is. As with most things. You know, even restaraunts don't make money on their entrees, all their profit is in drinks, appys, and deserts.
Bought a Hoover last year and am very happy. Get a direct connect unit, much more convenient.
I bought a Nutone a few years ago. I'm very happy with it, except the "hose sock" option took hours and hours to put on.
