Can’t find prior posts regarding best glue to use so here’s my question
I’m gluing up several trusses for a shed and will be applying gussets with glue and gun nails. What’s the best glue for the job? Gorilla glue was my original first choice but then a tube of construction adhesive came my way and now I’m not so sure.

Let me be the first to YELL at you for having the nerve to make your own trusses ;-)
Hey, it's only a back yard storage shed.
Well, you did get a few "how comes?".....I'm surprised you didn't get more, but I guess you said "shed" too quick for a proper flaming...
mind you a shed could be a pretty big structure ;-)
PL premium construction adhesive, but I'm not convinced you should be making your own trusses.
Why are you doing this? Stick framing is simple, reliable way to frame something like a shed. Anyway, I'm sure you'll get an earful from others.

I used PL, 1/2 ply gussets and screws. it was a activity in class to show how trusses were made. ;) shed has been up for 5 years and no problems. maybe I should tell those kids that they passes. o well
Thanks guys, PL Premium it is.
Gorilla does not have the shear strength for this application.
Regular construction adhesive will allow "creep" and not hold tight in this shear setting
PL Premium will cure hard even in cold and damp. Get some.
It's just a small shed so ignore the guys worried about you building trussses for it and have fun. If it falls down - learn something from it.

I was doing some glueup yesterday. Temp in the
room was around 55 but it has been very dry and
cold here lately. I absent mindedly neglected to
wipe one surface with a damp sponge and I
noticed a very slow glue set up.
PL is great stuff but it needs the damp.
Ain't nothin built w/ PL premium going to "fall down".
it's a shed...
tell the yellers to stuff it...
Pl Premium.. no subsitutes...
