Looking for the best tablesaw for around
$500. It seems that you have to go $600+ from what I have seen to get a decent saw. I want to run molding cutters on it. Suggestions?

The Jet contractor's saw can be ordered through a Lowe's center for $549, and there is currently a $50 rebate on the saw. I just got mine and I love it.
*I like the Ryobi and it is for just under $500.

This is far from a recommendation but I wondered if anyone had tried the new Ridgid brand table saws - or wood working tools in general. They sure make good pipe fitting tools but I'm suspicious. Think there was a 10" table saw for under $400.

I have had a Jet 10" contractor saw for 15 years and have been fairly satisfied with it. One thing I don't like is a noisey vibration that occurs whenever I use the thing. The noise goes away if I take the blade off but then what good is a table saw without a blade? I use a fairly expensive Freud combination blade and have tried others but the noise persists. For the price, I am satisfied with its performance.
*Bill, for what it's worth, Ridgid is the new brand name used by the folks who until recently produced the bulk of woodworking tools for Sears Roebuck. I would not be afraid of them at all. However, it never hurts to check things out before buying. In my area Home Depot has picked up this line of tools. I am looking at their 6 18" jointer myself. Hope this helps!
