Best technique on window +door flashing?

What do you guys say for a final word on flashing doors and windows? Heres a couple of links I stumbled on from Grace and they are cutting the housewrap flush on top and bottom and 4″ in on the building. I’ve been cutting it in an upsidedown Y pattern and folding the paper in, then doing a sill with flexible flashing, install window, flash sides and top, then folding the top of housewrap down onto the top flashing.
All these little differences make me think theres just many ways to skin this cat, but window and door details have always bugged me so I was looking for a consensus among pros
Have any of you taken out a window flashed like this or similarly, after some time to see how well its working? I have never taken any out done like I do. I have taken out lots of newer windows just nailed to the housewrap opening, and witnessed lots of damage. Have also take out lots 50 yr old windows with nothing around anything and seen no damage.
The little “butterfly” patch this guy make for the bottom corners in the second link is a good idea I think.

Whats the difference between Vycor and the regular grace ice and water for the roof, seems like the same product to me.
Vycor is a lot thinner and is smooth. Nice stuff.

I like that first method a lot. Seems like flex wrap could easily substitute for those plastic corners though.
I use flex wrap on the corners and Vicor for the rest. I don't generally do flanged windows. Also, my understanding is that Ice and water is not compatible with vinyl (ie: the flanges) and vicor is.Also, I don't see the need to adhere to the sheathing. When doing non-flanged windows I cut the housewrap to the edge of the RO all the way around so the vicor can stick to the trimmers. Used to wrap the house wrap into the RO and just stick the vicor to that, but it's harder to foam the windows with all that suff flapping in in a 1/4" gap.Steve
