I have a Stabila that is dead nuts on. About 15 years old. Think I paid 25 bucks for it. I use it to check my 6 ft'er and the 4 ft'er.

like hammerelbow said the Stabila is very good.
I did a search and found an old style machinist level by Starrett. Very nice but maybe not so rugged. Still it is nice and different. US made.

Stabila gets the nod around this area. You won't get them for 25 bucks anymore, but the quality is good and from what a few people have said here at BT, the customer service is excellent.
I always have the Stabila in my tool belt and use it as a stud finder. The magnets are strong enough to find most drywall screws.
GreenLee, hands down. Aircraft grade aluminum, rare earth magnets. I've dropped one off of the second floor, and it stayed level. They'll run you about $40 but it might just be the last torpedo you ever buy. Harbor freight has a red one that looks suspiciously like the GreenLee for $10, its a good level but the aluminum is a little soft. It gets some little dings in it if it takes a hard hit, but I just file them off. Definately worth $10.
I saw some Kleins recently which seem good; the bubbles actually are the same size as the space between the lines and they checked out level. I would probably buy them if I needed yet another.
