I know that Johnson’s is widely used, and I have used only theirs, but is there another maker whose hardware is superior?

Engineered-stone shower panels are waterproof, but proper installation relies on tight seams and silicone sealing.

We typically use Haefele stuff. The online catalog is useless-but they will send you hardcover catalogs with great info, from which you can order online, and delivery is a few days away. Great stuff. Several different rail systems.
I like Hager pocket door hardware. I think it is http://www.hagerhinge.com
Gene,
I prefer Crowder hardware over any others.

Thanks, Ron. I was not aware of Crowder.
I clipped this from their catalog. Would it be a good arrangement to use for pocket door alignment? I don't like the twin plastic jamb-mounted guides that ship with Johnson kits.
I envision the roller guide fixed to the floor just inside the pocket, with a stopped dado plowed into the bottom edge of the door, stopped so it does not peek through the leading edge. The channel fits snugly in the dado, and it length is such that about 3/4" of it runs out of the trailing edge, so as to engage the roller when the door is fully closed.
What am I missing? Would such an arrangement make it impossible to mount and dismount the door panel, once everything is done?

I went with this unit to make it easier to put the door in and lift it out if required. It also helps with the adjustments. Like you mention, I also extended the bottom track by about an inch so the the roller fits inside the pocket.

Gene,
I have never seen one of those bottom rollers. Very slick. But I have no useful advice.
