I installed ( finally) the Bilco door I bought last summer. Put it on PT on top of old foundation.
I’m now going to put mortar from the wood beveled down to the brick on the outside of the foundation.
Is there a membrane I can paint over the mortar and PT board to seal it, and then paint over it to finish it?
I seem to remember some kind of liquid that can be painted and is water proof when it dries but, darn, I can’t remember the name.
Also, type S mortar or Sakrete’s white bonding cement?

Hi Tashler, sounds like you have a job for . . . flashing.
For the cant made of mortar, use whatever is cheap. Cover it with flashing so the water will roll down the side of the door, onto the flashing, and over (past) the edge of the brick. I'd have to see what you have to talk about how to seal the flashing to the door unit, but there should be an easy spot as you seem confident that the door to PT seal is good. If no other options, slip the edge of the flashing in the small gap between the door unit and the PT wood below that and seal with quality polyurethane caulk.

That was the original idea, but I think the aluminum will get stepped on quite a bit.
I don't like the idea of replacing it every year.
