Have a Porter Cable Circular saw and it is starting to bind. Bought a new blade, still binds. What do you think is wrong with it? Bent Shaft?

You don't have to sacrifice historical elements of a house in the name of energy efficiency.

check your fence alignment, must be parallel to the blade
are you using the thin blades, sometimes they will bind if you don't get your cut straight from the get go and then try to correct. as said previous check for square.
Does it bind all the time, or just when the blade guard is trying to retract? Mine doesn't always retract smoothly, especially on non-square cuts, so I frequently retract the guard manually at the beginning of the cut.
on my porter cable 6" saw the rubber bumper that catches the blade guard gets mashed down a bit after awhile. it will mushroom out and actually create enough push on the guard to bind the blade. i shave the washer and rotate it. guard and blade work together- again.good luck fixing.
Pete, does that new style have a star bolt to tighten the blade. If so, you might be able to bend each one of the things down a bit, otherwise, you might have to buy a new bolt. The washer, if it has one might need a bit of roughing up too. I've got the old 315's, but if the new PC is like the old rockwell, that might be the trick. Best of luck
