I need to buy some new drill bits. Can’t remember a good source; white? Also, what do you like in router bits?
Thanks,
Pete

I've been buying bits in lots of 10 or 20 from
http://www1.mscdirect.com/cgi/nnsrhm
Nice bits, decent prices.
CMT is my 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice...
work well, stay sharp, well made and a good value...
no problems with Bosch bits...
nor amana... (sp?)

+1 on USA drill bits.
I have Whiteside router bits and they are very good. I've got a bunch of Freud and Bosch and they are almost as good as the Whiteside. The PC bits, not so much, just like any other cheap Chinese bits.
Twist drill bits = Bosch or Milwaukee.
Router bits = Whiteside, Bosch, Freud - I have the best luck with Whiteside. Have pretty much given up on buying 1/4" shank bits - all 1/2" now.
Spade bits = Skil - I know that is surprising (cheap - $10 for a set at HD), the Skil bits are cheap to buy and do not have those funky little spurs at the edges of the bit - this makes them very re-sharpen-able with just a fine toothed flat or triangular file - handy after you hit a nail......

I think differently about drill bits, to me they are throw aways so I buy the harbor freight drill bits..router bits, I only buy the woodline bits, they are cheap but never had a problem with them.
I even take them to get sharpened.
for cheap foreign bits ya cant beat them
Milwaukee drill bits are ALL made in China these days... same #### as any other cheapo set.JT
And only available at Home Depot.
Not sure what's more depressing, the downfall of Milwaukee or of Porter Cable...JT
Milwaukee for me, but Porter Cable is a close second.
