I’m doing some work in an upscale sub-division that has a requirment tht the concrete driveways be coated black.
I have ABSOLUTLEY no idea why and it looks cheap. BTW, these homes are about $375-425. This is in an area where you can get starter homes for $125k and nevery nice moveup homes starting at $200k.
But anyway the HO had the driveway redone, but dones not remember who. But the sdiewalk and steps where not redone and the coating is worn. And wants me to redo it.
My GUESS is that a sealer for asphalt drives was used. But it is only a guess.
Any other products that you can get think of other than driveway coating?
If I use driveway coating, any particular type other than just a “good quality”.

I assume this driveway has already been poured, right?
Aren't there stains specifically formulated for concrete? however, even if you could get a black stain, I would think it will be impossible to get a color that is as deep as an asphalt coating would be.
I have no experience with this, have only read about the concrete stains.

Yes, the house was built in 93. And these are definitely a surface coating.

I don't think so. It certainly appears to be a coating.I know that it is not a color mixed into the concrete mix.I will go by in the next couple of days and look closer. Where it is come off it look like "plain" concrete.

You've seen me post this link before. But take some time to check out their "Microtoppings." These are designed to simply be troweled, sprayed, rolled, brushed, (whatever) on existing concrete.
Although these can be tinted, the real black effect comes from the use of their MiraStain I product on the microtopping. Then seal with one of their 10 different sealers.
