Came home friday to this….arrghhhhh! Sudden thunderstorm puffed under the foam (all taped) and lifted the whole shebang, pex and all, and whipped it over and against the fence. What a mess.
While it was still pooring rain I hopped the fence and was pitching pieces back over when the little boy who lives there came out and yelled “thank you”. I just couldn’t help but smile and said “you’re welcome”.
Later my DW (in pics) helped me gather it all up so I could get a leg up on putting it back together on Saturday.
The milestone for me? I didn’t loose all my cool. There was a time when I would’ve just blown a gasket and been a miserable SOB. I was upset and sick looking at the mess, but I didn’t go raging…that’s worth more than what it takes to put it back.
And I can laugh at it now 🙂

Dude,
As much as that sucks my hats off to you for doing so well with it.
Hope the rest of the job only gets better.
Been there, but before the PEX.
I saw it coming and put every heavy thing available on the foam. Rocks mostly but weighed the front edge down with 2+" galvanized well pipe.
Blew it off, bent the rebar all to helll and spread the foam over a couple acres.
The good news is we decided to leave for town before it hit as it was obvious we wouldn't be working for a bit.
Came back & there it wasn't anymore. If I had stayed I would probably have tried something stupid to hold nto some part of it.
Not a fun day, but got it back together and poured within a few days. Still finding bits of foam in the trees around here.

LOL, that is the type of #### that happens to me. Good for you on not getting upset. I probably would have been ranting and raving. Especially after getting the PEX down. Hope the PEX wasn't damaged.

I had one where we got 4-6 feet of snow on it before I could pour. A t least I had tarped it so after shoveling we could get it clean. I think we scheduled that pour four times before we got it done! Then it rained two inches just a couple hours after the finish was hard enough to walk on. So I had to peel the curing blankets off to let it drain, then back on again before it dropped out the bottom of the thermometer bulb that night....
