We had our kitchen cabinets refaced and new doors made back in 1999. The contractor left the industry maybe 10 years ago. From time to time over the years individual hinges would break. An internal plastic part would snap, and the hinge would no longer close completely, I replaced those individually with similar hinges from HD, and some of those have broken, too.
How long should these hinges last?
What hinges are recommended to replace these, or should I expect them to fail in 10 to 20 years?
Thanks for your advice.

My experience with the Blum brand is that they last pretty much forever. At least the ones they made 30 years ago do.

We have the very simple Blum hinges on our '89 original full overlay cabs, adjustable side to side. Several of these have failed like yours. Also, the two corner base cabs hinges (fold back upon themselves) have crapped out.
Remember too that tall doors need an extra hinge to carry the load.
With the upgrades to soft close, I'd give thought to changing them all instead of piecing it out. Might switch brands, tho I have not had problems with better Blum products.
