I’m very interested in the aesthetic possibilities of vertical board&batten siding but am sketchy on good building details for it. I notice Patrick M. in a recent post saying he likes rough-cut cedar for this application. Any other opinions? Does one nail through the battens only, leaving a space between boards? What about grain orientation on the boards? Suitable nails and spacing? Size of battens? Finishes?
