Weird… started friday… it would start… and as soon as i’d go to move or lift anything it’d die dead… i could shift in the seat… and it’d go again with the same result..
first i thought it was the switch in the safety pull down bar… i looked at the switch… seemed ok… then if i sat just right in the seat… it’d keep running and let me operate it at slow and easy… but any big move and it’d die…. Ijust knew there was some safety switch in the seat… the internet didn’t show it or did i find any menton of it nor could i find wires to prove it…
sat morning… i start looking again… remove the overhead panels looking for loose wires.. nope… unbolt lift up the cab… start looking for switches ect.. spot where the cab has been rubbing on the wire harness… so i cut open the harness… man i hate that i like things to stay looking like the factory made them… but sure enough i find a small wire that has been rubbed in 2… 5 minute splice and some self bonding tape to rewrap everything.. and try to reposition the harness to make more clearance… and i’m back in business…
just a stupid thing i had to deal with… that cost me a few hours… but there is no way i can function without my bobcat
later in the day… the tilt hydraulic cylinder started to leak… 5 hrs of move’n and grad’n dirt… at least i’ve done that rebuild several times before.. $20 in seals and 45 minutes… and i’m good for another 3-400 hours of service… 2001 model with 1100hrs as of today… other than the fuel pick-up tupe fall’n out into the tank… this was the only time it’s ever stopped me from work’n… after purchase price… not count’n tires… fuel & lube…lots of lube/grease… I’ve spent maybe $100 on seals… thats 10cents an hour
not too bad

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
