While my oil burner technician was cleaning my boiler recently, I asked him if I should be draining/flushing my system (low mass burnham boiler, copper pipe, boilermate, 2 zones, slantfin baseboards) from time to time. He said, yes and went on to tell me how to do it.
A couple of weeks later I asked the same question to a plumber friend (who installs lots of boilers and heating), and he said he wouldn’t. That it would only add more minerals to the system, whereas the minerals that are already in the system have already been deposited or depleted so it’s best to leave well enough alone.
That advice sounds goofy to me but ,hey, what do I know. Does anybody have the scoop on this?

If a well running hot water boiler is not giving any trouble, DON'T touch it. The big advantage is that all the oxygen has been removed from the water. No oxygen = no corrosion.
Getcher self over to The Wall, and ask there.

No benefit to flush.
Oxygen has been depleted, and it is best to keep it that way.

Based on this info you should have no problems with oxygen permeation. So I would go with the Plumbers advice and leave the system alone
