I am installing a non finished rustic hickory floor, aprox 1000 sq ft, anyone here have experience with Bona Kemi products? Specifically Bona Traffic. I like that it is water based, & dries quickly. Wondering about reparability, and so forth….

I have used boni kemi for over 15 years. Only had two problems neither really my fault but fault in construction. First was chipping on the ends of boards at the time the rep did not know what the cause was. turns out not enough nails, the board ends where riding up and down shearing the finish on the ends this was a refinishing job 1/2 flooring.
The other finished a floor and the next day there was a huge puddle in one corner of the room. I had put on the finish as normal and the room was so off from level it flowed as drying to the lowest corner, drying as a puddle.
I have used traffic it is expensive mostly use mega before that pacific strong and ultra. Traffic is thicker and harder. Even my dealer does not sell a bunch of it they say it is used mostly for commercial apps,
As to repairing if you get a bad board or boards you tape it out along the edges of the board with blue tape apply some finish pull tape up before completely cured about an hour. If the wood is gouged it is gouged not much to hide that but if it is the finish then you are good to do a spot recoat.
Just did a spot recoat on the last floor it was a rental a few hours prior I had recoated a floor they the window washer came to wash the exterior windows. Next day there was a puddle of water on the floor. The window leaked in pressure washing. the finish had peeled due to the spotless chemicals and cleaner in the water. the floor ran parallel to the window taped it off wall to wall along a seam gave it two coats in one hour the repair was done.
Frenchy will be along to tout the praises of shellac. But traffic is good stuff just because it is water based and not Glitiz do not put off wearing a respirator. If you are doing a unstained floor I still give it a coat of neutral oil it gives the wood more depth.

Have used Mega with the entire Bona seal/stain/finsh system. You need to be ready with the recommended tools because you only get one chance with the finish. It cures so quickly that any drips, anywhere, become an issue.
Beautiful and Tough as nails.
