There have been numerous reference books put out by a number of companies that carpenters used to carry. Walkers Pocket Estimator is one, Brockway Smith catalog is another. For the definative reference on just about anything in construction, Architectural Graphic Standards is the one, but it's expensive and won't fit in your pocket. This will list everything you can imagine, height of a childs seat to the dimensions for a squash court.
