Just bought this hammer drill 2 days ago.
Got so hot that you had to let go of it.
Trigger lock would not unlock.
Leaked grease in excess,.. my white shirt was covered in it.
vibrated so badly that my hands are still numb
plastic depth rod lost its teeth after 5 Tapcon screws
plastic depth rod lock lost its teeth.
tried to initialize the trigger lock and it would not function
it is NOT 360 degrees for the depth rod.
C’mon Bosch!!! you were one of my favorites. Don’t do this please. Don’t chince out. Make a quality product and I will be loyal. I have your Bulldog and I love it.
This product is junk, unless I just got a bad one. I got my money back but I informed the guy at lowes as to why I was returning it. Totally unhappy. Looks like Rigid is my new model.

If so you got a lemon.
I've abused the snot out of mine with no problems.
PS
Partner has the Hilti and it's the same darn drill
(just in red).
no, mine was simple. Hope I did not get the model number wrong. (I had it so briefly)Mine was only $100 bucks at Lowes. Plastic depth rod and locking mechanism. Had a slide switch at the top for Hammer or drill mode, (which also slipped alot).
I bet I did get a lemon though. Plastic is great..but not on a tool that is designed to take abuse.
I have had a small metabo for 20 years. Hasn't missed a beat.
I did put a long cord on it. It is just for tapcons and small stuff.
The bit never comes out of it. We have a brick house. "There are three kinds of men: The one that learns by reading, the few who learn by observation and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."Will Rogers
I'll second the Metabo recommendation.Bought this one http://www.metabo.de/metabo/com/en/produkte/hammers/multipurposehammeruhe28multi_6_00361_00.html at a closeout for $100 plus $50 to mail order replace the missing hand tight 1/2" chuck. Two range VSR rotary hammer, hammer drill and 1/2" conventional drill.Very sweet.
I have the smallest one they make. It's just for small stuff. I got a job that needed a bunch concrete screws so it paid off.
It's about 20 years old and does exactly what it is supposed to do.
I have a Bosch bulldog for bigger stuff. "There are three kinds of men: The one that learns by reading, the few who learn by observation and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."Will Rogers

That certainly is a cheaper model. The one I have was like $150.00 or so at
Lowes. If you still need one, I'd recommend it.
If you look right behind the chuck the housing for the main front bearing is plastic.
That isn't a good idea. I like the gears and bearings up front to be in a metal housing.
Especially on a hammer drill."There are three kinds of men: The one that learns by reading, the few who learn by observation and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."Will Rogers
Many of the positive experience with this tool. I do not understand all the critics in this post.
