I just got a new Bosch 1591 “barrel grip” jigsaw and have noticed that it gets really hot after only a few seconds of use. Different materials don’t seem to make much difference. It gets so hot that I almost can’t use it.
Anybody else have this issue with the new Bosch jigsaws?

I'd sugget 1st calling Bosch and 2nd exchanging it for a different one.
I've an older style of that jig saw, body never gets warm
Yup....I have the top-handle version so I can't feel the heat directly while cutting, but if I touch the body, its screamin' hot. I have an old Bosch barrel grip that I use for coping, and it does not get nearly as hot. I dunno.........
I have an older version of that saw also and it hasn't gotten too hot to touch even after an hour of cutting.
change it out...
misaligned brushes or shorted armature...

I'm exchanging it.Turns out the "orbital" switch and "soft start" features are also not working. I'm guessing there an electronics malfunction that's affecting everything.TPToolpig (a.k.a. The man formerly known as "Toolfreak" and "Toolfanatic")

The house goes on the market Friday and the one thing I'm dreading is moving all my tools. Moving tools suckz...can't really box em too good. Just keep walkin' em' into the moving van...prolly one of the reasons I've been sellin' some of the ones I haven't used in ions on Ebay.
If the house doesn't sell real quick I'll have to buy some tools...lol.
Bosch TS is the first on my list.

I had the same problem with one the first time I used it straight out of the box. It doesn't seem to be as bad now, but I am going to trade it out just to be sure.
