I ordered a new 36v set and was wondering if B was gonna come out with the matching jigsaw? So I contacted Bosch and here is the reply (frown).
“Thank you for writing. At this point there is no indication a 36 volt jigsaw will be coming out in the near future. Thank you for your interest in Bosch.”

That would be an awful lot of power for a tiny blade.
? Looking at it from the view of using the same batteries(litheon)
I ordered up the 42cpk and 2 spare fat packs. So if you use the the 18V drill or jig saw it would be heavier than the 36v with the slim pak.
I'm sitting here waiting for ups to bring my new presents.
That does make sense. I have the 1590 EVS, and it is by far the best jig saw I have ever used. I also have the DeWalt 18V portable. It has more than enough power for any jigsaw, but the mechanism that holds the blade is a pain, and it can't compare to the Bosch in precision ability to do the job. In jigsaws, I find the corded models to be very useful because most of my jigsaw work is near an outlet. I suppose if the cordless would be as good as the 1590 EVS, I could be convinced that it is better.
I understand your need for new toys. I have four table saws, two of which will be sold, and I have been resisting buying the smaller portable DeWalt saw, which has been reduced from $369 to $299 at Home Depot. With my 10% coupon, that would be a great deal. I also resisted buying the Milwaukee 18V set that has been reduced by $140. I really don't need it.
Why am I holding out on these presents to me? I think I have the Festool madness. I am not sure yet. I have bought the saw and am thinking if I can forego my other tool opportunities and deals, I can get deeper into the Festool quagmire. Won't somebody save me?

No help here! If you like the Bosch jigsaw then you'll love the Festool jigsaw. I have both and to me there is no comparison, the Festool is far better.

Damn!
I've been wondering about the festool jigsaw. Seems hard to believe
it could be that much better.
The main difference is a little extra blade support no?

Yea, but to me it just feels so much better. I dont think the Bosch is a bad jigsaw but I do think the Festool is a great jigsaw.

I agree with Doug that the Festool is a great jigsaw. However, because Festool is so focused on dust extraction, their jigsaw lacks a sawdust blower. For rough work I prefer my Bosch 1587 because it has a sawdust blower. I think the 1590 has one, too. For fine work, I hook the Festool to a vac and enjoy the compact power and precision.Bill
Yea, what Bill said!
Well I'm sure it's a nice saw, but like most of the Festo stuff is
it that much better?
I would pay the price in a heart beat if it truly was accurate. No blade deflection etc.
dewalt has it
