bosch 4100 update from a year ago!
Over a year ago I posted that my Bosch was intermitant and not reliable while I was building an onsite staircase. Several good ideas came in onto the forum, all of which I tried, but did not have any success solving the dilemma. I needed it recently to install some kitchen cabinets and finally got around to having someone look at it. It was a very simple solution, one I should have know about. The guy reseated the brushes and that was all it took. In fact, it ran with the soft start that it never had done before, and did not bog down on the stock. What a simple solution and I feel very silly I didn’t get it in sooner. If anyone else has had this issue, you might want to consider the same area to check out. Can’t say enough about how it works now!!

You might have just saved me a lot of work and aggrevation. Mine is acting exactly like you described. If it was a handheld tool, brushes would have been the first thing I looked at. Never thought about it for the TS though. Sweet!
let me know if it works for you. I can't believe the difference.

Now that is an excellent question!!! I don't know. The guy who owns Stroudsburg Electric motor (PA), David Smith, knows just how to do it, and spent very little time doing it!! I don't know what he did, though.

I'm thinking a peice of abrasive cloth on the amature in contact with the brushes for a couple of turns.
I can remember cleaning the armature with light emory cloth. The brushes can glaze over too.
