Time to get a new angle finder. Anyone here have opinions on either the Starrett ProSite or the Bosch digital?

I have the Starrett. It is simple and it works.
The Starret is great. Very accurate with the read outs. I also have several sliding bevel squares which I still use. I got a large one from Woodcraft Supplly, I think it's Sweedish, which I use almost daily.
check out the veritas sliding bevel
I will. I love Veritas. It would be silly of me to buy yet another sliding bevel set...which means I'll just have to go out and get it if I like it.
I've got the Bosch and love it. But I don't see a probem with the Starett.

I have both. I use the Bosch when I just want an accurate angle (reads out in tenths of a degree, I believe.) I use the Starrett for determining miter saw settings, etc. The Bosch rarely gets used, as the Starrett is much more user friendly. Starrett just came out with a smaller version that I will soon be looking to buy.

I have the Starrett. Just bout it form GW - on sale now for $60 -- heavy, durable and looks like it will do the job
I have both the Starrett and the Bosch. Like the Bosch a lot, but it doesnt get used as much as it should ( doesnt fit in the tool belt that well).
I like the Starrett except for one thing. I find it hard to read the difference between degree fractions ( 90 vs 9.25 vs 90.5). Just wish the degree face was bigger so I could tell more of a difference. Anyone else have this problem or am I just being to picky????? Maybe a magnifying glass would help.

I recently purchased the Starrett 12" and have been sorely disappointed. I had considered the Bosch, but due to price difference and my good experiences with Starrett products, went with the manual 12".
My opinion is that the design, materials, and assembly is adequate and solid. However, the accuracy of my unit is terrible. Angle references are off by up to 1 degree. Accuracy seems to be driven by lack of concentricity and accurate layout of the PSA index labels. Starett tells me that their standard for this model is +/- 1/2 mark, which can be 1/2 degree or whole degree, depending which scale is used (inner or outer).
Starrett has offered an exchange, just haven't gottent to it yet. I have seen and heard of extensive problems with this issue, apparently not just limited to my unit. Hopefully they have addressed it. It's sad it when a firm like Starrett makes a POS that tarnishes their reputation.
I own and do agree that Starrett makes great measuring tools...I've seen the Starrett but haven't studied it... Another post concerns of reading the scale accurately...90.0, 90.25 vs 90.5...what is the diameter on the scale?? With these type of protractors I'd be content with +/- 1/2 degree at best...the new Hitachi SCMS...digital readout!!! What's the tolerance spec on the saw??... one degree?? Am I missing something??

I don't have both, but I do have the Bosch, and it's a nice unit. It's useful for more than ange finding, if I recall correctly,
I do find a use for the accuracy in tenths, and I have needed it.
I do wish the unit was smaller though, as it can be tough to fit in tight places.
It is a "Spiff" on certain Bosch tools at Amazon, and perhaps others right now...maybe you need another tool and can get it free?
