Just picked up a Bosch #1608 trim router ($20 — decent price?), missing the little flat wrench that slots into the top of the body to permit loosening the collet. Anyone know the size of this wrench — opening and thickness? Or are they cheap enough that it’s easier to buy one?

Cheap enough.
Call Bosch, The wrench wasn't in the box.
Goffy shape to the end of the wrench

(If yours is like mine) Find the real wrenches. You need two (or even three if you lose one) of the right ones. They have two ends. One loosens the nut, the other fits in the top of the motor base to hold the collet so you can turn the nut. Your hardware store should be able to order it or find a Bosch mail order outlet online
It needs two wrenches, a 16mm for the shaft and a 24mm for the collet.

Actually, as best I can tell, it's an odd little wrench that goes through the slot at the top of the body to lock the spindle, and a 14mm wrench on the collet. This is the laminate trimmer, not their bigger router.
Oh really ?
