Hi Guys,
I bought a new magnesium Bostitch 2″ brad nailer, and a similar 1 1/2″ stapler. They are oiless tools and I am having all kinds of problems with them. First the brad gun trigger leakes air. Worse, about every other nail is a jam, it seems like the driver blade is not hitting the nail, but going down in front of the nail. Also, the driver blade doesn’t always cycle back up far enough to hit the nail on the head.
I also have similar problems with the staple gun. Sorry I am not in my shop right now, so I dont remember the model #’s. I think the brad gun is bt2ooK but I am not sure. I have tried different air pressures, and different fasteners. I am stumped. Ajam every now and then isnt so bad, but it gets a little annoying on every other nail.
Does any one have any similar experiences with these tools? I have never had this many problems with my other brad gun or nailers.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Chris

take them back and replace them. sounds defective
Sounds like FOT (Fell Off Truck) stock sold at a discount where they prey it won't come back so they can make a profit. I agree with the previous post. Take it back and get a replacement. You might want to function check the new ones in store to save an extra tip or two. Maybe the entire pallet load FOT.
I got a good deal on a microwave once on a FOT shipment. Several boxes were clearly crushed. I had to dig through most of the shipment to find one that wasn't damaged and worked right. In the end I got a brand name microwave that usually costs $250+ for $50. I've had it for two years now and use it daily.
