Project Superintendent – Estate-Quality Residential Construction<!—-><!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
At Sanford Custom Builders we take pride in two generations of craftsmanship and client service and specialize in creating one-of-a-kind, highly customized homes in a smooth and collaborative process. We’ve built our reputation one expertly crafted home, and one satisfied client, at a time.<!—-><!—->
<!—-> <!—->
Over the years we’ve slowly and steadily been growing, and as a result of that growth we’ve decided we would like to invite a proactive, highly skilled, ethical Project Superintendent to join our team. Our work pipeline is solid, and we anticipate continued growth.<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
At Sanford Custom we measure our success by our ability to work as a team to deliver an outstanding home, and excellent experience, for our clients. We work with some of the areas finest Architects and Subcontractors in the process, and we want to bring someone on board who is highly motivated to manage an excellent project, and who also values working on a team. Mavericks, gunslingers and fire-fighters don’t seem to do well here. That said, we aren’t hand-holding or micro-managing either… you’ve got to be able to operate independently.<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
We’re an even-keeled company. We don’t usually let things evolve into “crisis†mode and if things do come up suddenly, we work to solve the problem using our brains, not our brawn (a.k.a. yelling and screaming). There is not a lot of “ego†in the company, and the founder, Marc Kaplan is a straight-forward, honest, down-to-earth guy.<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
If you’re a good person… by which we mean: honest, hard working, sincere… that counts for about 90% of what we’re looking for. What else is there, really?<!—-><!—->
<!—-> <!—->
But as a practical matter, we do need to bring someone on board that knows how to build at this level. For example:<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
· You need to have actual experience running projects in the 1MM – 10MM dollar range. <!—-><!—->
<!—-> <!—->
· You need to enjoy (and we all have our good days and bad days on this one…) working with customers and have actual experience doing so. (Ideally with high-net-worth clientele). <!—-><!—->
<!—-> <!—->
· You need to be technically excellent… experienced in best-practices around everything from flashing and waterproofing to mechanical systems to high-end finish.<!—-><!—->
<!—-> <!—->
Have we mentioned good person…?<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
If this sounds like you then by all means please be in touch or tell someone you know about our company.<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
The best way to reach us is to email your RESUME and PROJECT LIST to: [email protected] <!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
Please include a brief note about why you’re looking and what you’ve been up to recently. We’re not fussy or overly formal so please… just write like a normal person!<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
We look forward to hearing from you.<!—-> <!—->
<!—-> <!—->
Sincerely,<!—-><!—->
Brian

What's the pay range for this position?
Hi Dave, completely commensurate. They've given me a wide range to work with when considering people and based on my experience in the industry the high end of the range is very competitive with the biggest and/or best companies in the area. The benefits are just so-so at this point, so we we're also prepared to pay a little extra in that connection as needed.
Best,

What towns do you build in?
Mostly western suburbs of Boston. That's where most of the really high-end work gets done around here. The company is really a good group of people. I've only been working with them a short while, but have known them by reputation for years. Thanks for the compliment!! Will pass it on to the team.
Best,

Hello there i'm not ready nor have the experience to run a show like you need....But just kicking the tires here and wondering if your hiring carpenters, thinking of moving to Boston and if i had a job lined up it would be terrific. P.S. if you have some contacts for Companies that are hiring send them along. I've been working with high end builder in Old Saybrook, CT for the last year and a half. Thanks
Here are some others that are among the best in Massachusetts. All do work in the suburbs west of Boston, Weston, Wellesley, Newton, etc. and the other big money area is Nantucket, most do work there also. The best is probably Ken Vona, second is probably Rigoli. They are all great builders though, Vona has one almost finished now that is 25,000 sq ft. There are also companies that only do finish carpentry, one of the best is fine finish from Waltham.http://www.bostondesignguide.com/guide/custom-buildershttp://www.bostondesignguide.com/guide/architectural-millwork
