Hello all. I was wondering if anyone out there done a brick arch in the kitchen? If so, how does the range hood attach and vent? Currently in the design stage of a home and the client “found” this image on the internet.
Thanks to all in advance!

I have seen this before, but it is a form over function disaster. The hood is a grill in the ceiling tucked in behind the arch. The arch is only one brick wide. The intake grill is far too high to be effective. The filters will be difficult to clean. Ducting will be above the ceiling.
Fellas, thanks for the reponse. Good information to bring to the table.

I`m with Ray....aint no exhaust fan on the market that will properly ventilate the cooking surface.
Maybe a downdraft and do the arch for aesthetics.
