This photo, along with several others, was part of a thread on railing design. I’d like to build something similar and wanted to see the other photos in the thread for reference. If you built this would you mind posting the other photos again?
Thank You

can you post a link to the thread?
or just ask your questions?
There are many here who could answer them. If that is an old photo, it could have originated from one of those fallen by the wayside

As embarrassing as this is, I can't remember. I saved that photo but alas no others.
Excuse me while I kick myself.
I'm wondering:
1) how to attach a handrail/ caprail
2) how to attach the rails to the posts. I plan on using PT posts wrapped with 1X cedar (with a 1/4" air space b/w the PT post and the cedar).

Looks similar to the fence on the Popular Mechanics Sitehttp://www.popularmechanics.com/how_to_central/home_clinic/1276551.htmlIt looks like your middle rail is half-lapped - not sandwiched like the one in the article. I built this fence in my backyard with cedar...no white paint like the article! I just counter-sunk and screwed the top rail. I would have preferred to counter-sink and plug, but I was running out of time trying to get 120 feet of fence up.
bumping the thread.
I'll be back tonight

Just a bump so you can find the thread when ya get ready to reply.
Life is like golf. If you keep in the fairway, you never have to ask for a ruling.
resized photo, it's a little too big for some.
I think that is part of a Mike Hennesy, Pittsburgh, PA post
Thats from Mike Hennesy's Bathroom addition I think..he had a thread about a yr ago. That is the white oak rail from the upper deck IIRC.
Try contacting him direct with a post addressed to him in the TO: Box. He'll probablu have the original pics.

Steel trap thats sprung. LOL
I do have a pretty good photographic memory, but it's also outta film. Or in the digital age we are in, outta batteries.
I didn't even attempt the search here, hadda run back in the shop..and double check that what I just cut was actually right..I forgot the actual size. (G)
Funny, if I write something down, it's imprinted on my brain, I mean I can tell you a fone # from 10 yrs ago. Reading I can often recite a paragraph and tell ya what part of the page and page number, if it was recent..like a few days.
Somethings stay stuck better than others, I don't actually TRY to remember what I read, I just do. I think that and the ADD keeps my mind from going totally out of whack..or not.
