Building a 16×32′ greenhouse with a dormer roof for the entrance
The greenhouse will have 6ft side walls, peak around 10ft off the top of my head.
I’m wondering if I can either combine three 16ft 2×6 for a ridge board, or avoid using a ridge board all together and go with gables, collar ties, and purlins. I’m not sure how I’d link up the dormer section without the ridge board. My plan is to have the dormer ridge board extend off from the main ridge board off the center point

If you rely on a ridge board to carry weight, it is working as a ridge beam.
Suitable framing connectors are available to transfer the load to the main beam.
The end of the dormer roof section away from the main ridge beam can either be taken to a foundation directly below, or carried via a triangular structure to walls that carry the loads down to the foundation.
Understand your roof load needs, and run the numbers. (or refer to published tables which apply for the species and grade of lumber you use)
