I am building a tub that I can stretch out in. What material do I use for support, wood or cinder blocks. Now what is the best way to keep it watertight and not leak? Can I use tile and mortar?

Sealoflex has a line of waterproofing systems that we use. One of the products is a polyester fabric reinforced elastomer that is waterproof and vapor proof. You build a fully adhering membrane in place. We've used it on balconies and have gone over it with a Spray-Crete decorative concrete resurfacing material. I would think that the Sealoflex CT system would work well in your application. You may want to call them at (800) 770-6466 and ask for Rob. He was in New Orleans earlier this week, but should be back.
I've seen custom tubs built out of both cement blocks and plywood. Your choice.

*In the January, 2001 issue of FHB, there is a nice article about a guy who builds homes almost completely out of scrap material. Anyway, the article also shows a tub he made. It looks pretty nice, and not terribly difficult to do.Peace
