Um. . .
Ok, so someone wants a partition wall built ‘temporarily’ in her condo unit. She’d like the wall built so that it is notched around the existing baseboard heater. Apparently, there’s some kind of snafu with the condo board regarding putting in two shorter heaters. :-S
Baseboard detailing aside, I think this is pretty stupid. I’m almost certain that I’m going to decline.
Hypothetically, how much clearance would I want to have around the baseboard heater? Like, just how ridiculous would this have to look?

I can't imagine what issue the condom board would have with that, esp if the control is on the unit. the electricians don't seem to like anything flamable too close to their units though. Seems easy to have two of them re-installed without the board even knowing. For hydronic, I have seen the fins peeled off, the covers cut and two new end trims fitted to the new wall with the copper line running right through the wall. That can be done with out shutting things down, which I imagined to be the problem the condo board would have

Cool.Because otherwise, I think it's absolute b.s., 'temporary' wall or not.
