Building perimeter water management/collection

Good Morning.
I’m looking for advice on ground level water collection (the water is to be routed to an inground holding tank for watering etc.)
I’ve seen a product that looked like a snap together system with essentially a U cross section, and a grating or perforated metal cover that allowed water to enter. I’m assuming that there is some mechanism to establish slope for drainage etc. I wonder if anyone has seen this if it still around. I suspect it is used in commercial apps mostly. I’m looking for it for a residential app on a modern building without eaves or internal eavestrroughing.
If anyone can give advice that would be appreciated. Alternatively, if anyone has experience collecting water in other effective ways I would be happy to know those too.

perimeter water mgmt.
I assume that you are refering to channel drains. I have used them in driveways, patios, pool decks etc. but not in soil/lawn installations.
There is no built in mechanism for establishing slope. The surface in which they are installed is sloped so that the water is directed to the drain and the channel drains are then sloped to outlets. If you are thinking doing this all the way around you house, it could get more involved than time or space to explain here. You will have multiple outlets points and multiple drain lines to your holding tank.
You can get what you are looking for at the big box stores. Also unless you want to spend big bucks for metal grates, I have found that the plastic grates are good enough for most applications.
