Building Shed Still Have Floor and Insulation Confusion
I am building a shed and have read so many articles and still don’t know what is best, I’m looking for advice/tips/input/anything helpful. Details:
**12′ x 16′ to be built on a section of an old driveway made of asphalt, which is not level, but approximately 1′ to 1.5′ difference from one end to the other
**I want to be able to move it in a couple of years
**Location: FL (read: hot, humid, bugs, rain)
**Use: office
I want to build a floor that I can insulate (without crawling under it after it is built), be able to have solid support across the entire floor because of the heavy weight of items going into it.
I am wondering, also, if anyone has used any composite pieces? It seems that would solve the issue of making sure that there is plenty of air circulation so as to not have the wood deteriorate…or is there more to the circulation thing?

How far are you planning on moving it ?
Looking at the “prebuilt sheds”, should give you an idea of the undercarriage, as they “move them” down the road to your house.
Or
Panellize the whole thing so you can take it apart in handleable sections and move it on a trailer.
PVC won’t absorb water so it won’t rot.
However, taking it apart…….
And it’s heavier per cubic ft .
And not really structural.
Insulate?
Cut and fit foam or have it sprayed….encapsulate with plywood.
Bugs?
Investigate walk-in coolers. Sized Panels assemble together. Might look goofy, but wouldn’t be much worse than a old Florida trailer.
I forgot to say thank you! I ended up going a different route, on another project, which I have questions about, making another post.
