So’s I go to the local greenhouse to get some compost. I always look around for a decorative garden structure to use for tomatoes and/or beans. Once I found some nice ones out at the Armstrong’s in San Juan Capistrano before they closed years back. $90 apiece. Well worth it. They were/are about 60″ high and made out of wrought iron type of metal. Although they came painted, I repainted them to match my fencing and other outdoor hardware.
So today, I see another one of a different design that would do wonders for a yuppie’s PC garden’s climbing beans or tomatoes. Excellent pyrimid design, 66″ high, custom made out of welded wire over a 3/16″ wire rod 4 legged frame. Simply had the oversized welding blobs ground somewhat flat, and the whole thing primered. About 8″ of the 66 were for legs to be stomped into the ground.
But it was a piece of art. For $42.50. They had many others in smaller, less useful sizes, but only one in the 66″. So’s I asked how can I get 4 matching ones? The store owner said, “I’m sorry, I have to order those 3 to 4 months in advance and in lots of 50. No more until next spring.”
With all of you’se experts out there free from your employment confines, what the heck are these people buying this stuff from China for?
Can anyone contact your local greenhouse and ask if you can make some of these on consignment and/or custom orders? These cannot have much more of a shop for construction than a back shed or garage.

Do you know if peas climb that high. I got some growing but I'm thinking they're not bush type becasue they're get all twisted on each other. Have some 3' chicken wire fence I was going to use but not sure it it's tall enough....

Some I've had in the past do.
Looks like a trip to Over The Fence is in store. Are they as mean there as they are at Cooks Talk?
They got that one chick that "owns" the place. As long as you don't get on her bad side... Admitedly, she does know her stuff. But as we all know, wimmen are wimmen. As much as some try, they can't change their spots.
