BX cable, metal boxes 2-prong receptacle

I’ve been asked to replace a bunch of 2-prong receptacles with typical 3-prong duplex receptacles in a 50-year old cape wired with BX.
Any reason why I can’t simply ground the new recepatacle via a grounding conductor to the metal box and use a non-GFI, 3-prong receptacle? I know one can install GFCI receptacles, but I don’t see the need.
thanks
