Cabinet handle template for big drawers
I am trying to find a cabinet handle drilling template for use in drilling the holes to attach handles to really big drawers. Some of my new kitchen cabinets have 32 inch wide drawers and I am trying to find an accurate way to attach the handles to them. The Home Depot-type of these templates are way too small… I found a really high end system made by Hettich which was pretty pricey. I am looking for something that is accurate and not an arm and a leg. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Lee Valley has a nice jig for drawer pulls, which includes extensions for wide drawers. It does both imp. and metric, I think it cost under $ 150.00

The guy who did our cabinets had a commercially (I think) made unit that consisted of a small block with guides for the pull center spacing and rods that ran through the block and clamped (in both x and y directions), with stops on the far ends of the rods. Fully adjustable and one would assume it would be a simple matter to substitute longer rods.
Every kitchen I ever installed, I took a hunk of scrap 1/4 ply and left over filler strip and made the templates for doors and drawers. Take the ply and lay out the hole spacing , and then pin or brad fences for side and top of drawer registration.
Hold it on the draw with spring clamps and drill through the ply and drawer.
For doors, do both sides of the ply with fences that read off the top or bottom and the edge, and then you can flip it over for L's and R's.
Once and done jigs that get tossed afterwards.

Don't toss the jigs.
Tape over both sides and redrill.

That is precarious, ever have that junk hardware with holes that were about a 1/16" wider than everything else? Or godforbid someone who's family member handmade some pulls? BTDT.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

Oh man, speak to me. With threaded depth about 2-1/2 threads. Throw in some millimeters and the occasional other things to screw you time wise, and simple knobs and pulls get to be a project.
