Thanks to everyone who posted on my scribing issue. Here’s another one with same kitchen cabinet project I’m not sure how to deal with. Basically, it’s about a 8′ run of cabinets one large and one for above an over-range microwave.
In addition to the side wall that needs to be scribed, the rear wall where the cabinet backs will sit is also pretty crazy.
What’s the best practice for mounting the cabinet to the wall? I know where each of the studs are, but if the wall is uneven I assume the cabinets will not be very solid.
Scribing the endgrain is not an option, as the larger cabinet will be located in a corner.
I was thinking another option might be mounting rails on the top and bottom. It seems like starting level would be the way to have a level outcome. That being said, I’m thinking putting 3″x8′ incision in my plaster walls might be a messy prospect.
I’ve attached a picture of the space from awhile back.
Anyway, thanks for any know-how with this one.

Reformatted the pic, some might pass on opening a file that large.
From what I can tell, you won't be able to see the sides of the cabinet, right?
Are you familiar with a french cleat? Fasten the cabinets together to make them look good and solid. Then hang them as one big piece.
Rip some ply or 4/4 stock and shim it up 'till it's straight and level, one near the top, and one near the bottom run. Scxrew the cabs to that. The only problem is that you'll have a space visible between the lower run and the wall. You could run some cove to cover it if you want. If you do that, I'd tack some to the back of the cabs too for a nailer for the cove.
A "French Cleat" will require you to lift the cab over the bottom 45 of the wall cleat to mate with the cab cleat.
