I am refinishing old cabinets (circa 1976).
When I went to replace the pulls I have found they no longer make that standard width (from bolt to bolt). All I have found is 3 inch pulls, and I need smaller ones (around 2.75).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could find these?

Have you looked on eBay? Searching for dimensions there can be frustrating, but I've had some success searching for decimal dimensions as "2 75" with no decimal point and for fractions as "2 3 4" with no slash. Plus "cabinet pulls" or "drawer pulls", of course.
are you painting or staining? If painting, you can fill in with wood putty and sand, then re-paint.
Otherwise, look at myknobs.com. I haven't looked for your size, but they have an amazing selection.
happy hunting!!
You might also try using a handle with a backing plate. The plate hides the old holes and can give the handle a nice look.
You're only an eighth inch off per side. If you could find pulls whose base is wider than 1/4" in diameter, they would just cover if you drilled new holes carefully. Fatter pulls would work even easier.
You should probably make a jig of hardwood to guide the drill bit so it doesn't fall into the old holes. Clamp the jig in place and drill both new holes.
