I have a 14 by 20 great room with a tongue and groove pine ceiling and am getting ready to trim out the wall to ceiling connection. It is an 8 pitch roof. Any ideas?

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Dennis;
You are going to have to use plinth blocks to make the transition from the wall to the rake if you are useing crown moulding. The top of the rake
can be mitred or coped preferably if you have a
ridge or beams to trim to, you just need to run the crown perpendicular to the cieling instead of the beam.
Good luck brisketbean
*I once ran crown in a room like that only with a 5/12 ceiling. I didn't use blocks in the corners. We adjusted the spring of the crown/average against the rake wall and carefully coped it in. I admit though I needed a little goofite in the corners ( painted crown). Good luck
