Ok, I know this has been covered. But I’m not finding anything with the search. Not sure if I’m using the wrong key words or what.
Rubber roof, about 600 sq. ft. (30 by 20), slight slope, all to the back edge. Location is central Ohio. I’m going to have a gutter installed, and there is a discussion about the capacity of 1/2 round vs. k-style. 1/2 round will look better, though it isn’t all that visible. The installer says that k-style has a greater capacity. I’m trying to decide whether it is so much greater that I want to go with it or not. We plan on using 6″ either way.
So where can I find the capacity and the amount of water to expect? I imagine NOAA has the rainfall figures, but I’m not positive.

6'' half round will easily handle that, you have two outlets or one? The downspout is more important than the gutter capacity. You can choke a 4" DS if it is solo. I'd do two.

Thanks Sphere, I forgot to mention the downspout. Only one. Pretty much has to be that way, unless I also want to trench and put in a drain tile. I need the downspout at one end to empty out into the alley. I'm trying to get all the water out there, rather than into the sliver of ground behind the carriage house.ARe there 6" down spouts?
Are there 6'' DS? Sure. But it wont mate to a 6'' 1/2 round...LOL.
6" gutter wants a 4" DS, and 5 " can drop to a 3" if needed.
You'll be fine w/4" DS.Inmate # 40735 At Taunton Federal Penitentiary.
One other question. We have to put up a new board to hold the gutter. The building is brick, and it appears to have either nailing blocks or the rafter ends to fasten too. What type of wood or wood substitute will last the best, without sagging? Probably 2 X 6 or 2 X 8, 30' run. I was wondering about MiraTec, but I wasn't sure about the sagging problem. I'm concerned about the life of the fastners with just treated wood.
We oftern replace bad sections of cornice w/primed Redwood. All screws are Ceramic coated, or SS.Inmate # 40735 At Taunton Federal Penitentiary.
>>>>>>>>>What type of wood or wood substitute will last the best, without sagging?5/4 cedar is probably what we'd use here, but availability might be different for you. Glad to see you got this going.http://logancustomcopper.com

I was thinking about 5/4", wondering if it would be rigid enough. I think it will look better, such that it matters.
since it will be hidden I suggest using neverrot or some synthetic since it wont ever go bad. also use roof straps or hanger straps whatever they are called, that will work best for sag. I also use the hidden hangers with ss fasteners, not having any issues with my customers. course, I am in Florida so I only have to deal with hurricanes and downpours, nothing like in snow country. U could also use a rainbarrel under your other downspout location or maybe a french drain system so that the water isnt just wasted.
You could use 5" dnspt with 6" HR.Water moves quicker thru HR than ogee gutter because it gets deeper faster even though ogee has roughly a third more cross sectional area.http://logancustomcopper.com
