I called and talked to Greg on the phone since I was working that day and its near him asked him if we could get together He said sure. So I went over to Gregs shop and we talked for a while discussed what else, tools, mat’ls and things. He showed me some of his jigs he uses for his work (which theres one Im gonna copy heheheheh) . Then then I got the opportunity to go to one of his jobs hes doing….Man that was some very impressive cabinetry. Beautiful, great craftsmanship. in fact I dont think Ive seen that clean of a job the lines and joinery on the roped crown wow. But what really impressed how a nice guy he is( even got a coke outta him). I would like to get the rest of us SoCal guys/gals together. I think it would be fun…waddya think….

*Ron, I think it would be fun, too. IIRC, only three of us at CT (who also post here) admit to being in the SoCal area--me, samchang, and RuthAnn. But I bet there's more lurkers.Mike, Santa Cruz is a place we Southern Californians like to claim. I think they identify more w/Northern CA, however. Hard to blame them.

*Rich I think he enjoyed it, after about 3 minutes of conversation he wanted to see my truck. He walked over to it opened the door and kept point at it and me with a smiling face (or grimace) :)

*Sounds like fun -- alas, my venues are all in disrepair. Perhaps by summer my BIL will have our little valley house with the big back yard and pool in presentable condition. The Hollywood place is still waiting on a building permit.-- J.S.

*BK, Ron? Oy, DW manages a JIB. I'd never be allowed to take that much business to the competition.... ;-)-- J.S.

*Kai, S CA ends at Conception. 'Course the Barbarians would disagree with that.

*I'd love to do a So. Cal get together. I'd offered to host one for the cooks before, just never got our act together. As long as you promise not to make fun of our deck...DH and I are NOT pros like you guys.

*I must be slipping. For the last day & a half I've been trying to come up with something smartassed/humorous to post- but to no avail...thanks for the gracious compliments, Ron, but lets make it Jack in the Box- I'm kinda fond of their teriaki chicken bowl...

          8. Ron_Teti | Dec 19, 2001 07:39pm | #12
