We are in the middle of building our house that I am the owner/GC on. It is going to be entirely brick and stone. However, there is a 2 ft. cantilever by 4 ft wide area off the second floor in the rear that I would like to brick. You guys see any problems with running angle iron along the bottom of the cantilivered joist to carry the brick? It would be sufficiently bolted to the joists. Also, only one of the 24″ legs actually cantilevers. The other is flush to a wall. Any input is welcome. Thanks

#1..a 2' cantilever is excessive if there is any load on it.. even without the brick/stone veneer...
you need a masonry detail from the architect...
