can anyone help wire wise oil furnace
hi i have a new honeywell wifi thermostat im trying to install & I just wanted to make sure the wires are right theres a transformer box with G, C, W, Y, R screws & it originaly had a white wire on G, & black on R & no screw on C & now the way my roommate installed new wires on it as u can see on my pictures the wires are R,

Should be ok.
just adding a common to let the furnace transformer power the thermostat.
hi thanks for your reply the old thermostat we had connected was a white rogers type 1E3ON-311 class 2 & it only had 2 wires connected R white on the left of the bottom of the thermostat & G black on the right bottom of the thermostat & the furnace end was black to the G terminal & the white to the R terminal & the new wifi honeywell thermostat model is RTH8500WF
