Can I face nail or use bolts to attach rafters to studs
I am building a house with a number of shed roofs. One roof sits on top of the plate of the wall but there is a roof going in the other direction that will be connected to the studs. Can I use bolts or nails to face nail the rafter to the studs. The wall in the interior and is 2×4.
I have attached a pdf that shows the house and a detail that shows how I would like to face nail or bolt to the stud
Thanks
Rick

You'll want to attach the rafter to that wall with a ledger connection. This article has some info, and there's plenty more info around online on how others have made similar connections.

Search Simpson strongtie.
Here’s a couple hanger examples.

Just an idea.
Thanks everyone for the help. I will probably go with a ledger board.
