Can I turn on a remote propane or gas heater remotely?

I would like to turn on a gas heater about half an hour before I arrive at my cabin. My arrival times vary by hour and day so I can’t really program a timer.My understanding is that they operate without electricity (free standing 30,000 btu unit) so I am in the dark here. Thoughts?

You could buy a robot or a different heater.
a time machine might work. but those can be expensive.
I have a propane fire place. The remote is battery powered and just closes a set of contacts on the gas millivolt valve. If you have that type of valve it would not matter how the contacts are closed so, a Wi-Fi outlet with a relay could do the same thing.
