I installed over 50 Halo air tight, can light fixtures. I was just thinking–out of 50 how long before one is defective. Is it difficult to dismember the ones made for new construction, remove them out the hole and then to replace them with same size they sell for remodel application. Seems like a sawsall would shake all the drywall loose. Maybe big snips would cut them up. Hope I never find this problem–but things do happen.
Thanks.

The guts are all replaceable from below. That leaves just the can and the connection box that might be a bit more difficult to access, depending on the location. Seems unlikely that a defect would occur there...but one never knows.

Rich, I hope you didn't lose any sleep over this, sleep tight. My point is this is probably the last thing you should worry about.
