I plan to put three can lights in a joist bay that is also occupied by a natural gas line. The cans would be 1 – 2″ from the pipe. Is this unsafe?

*Rich, Maybe I'm just paranoid but they get quite hot...But then again, they run gas lines in attics here in Florida and gets gets very hot in them?! DEFINITELY get the ICF ones. Is that the right acronym? What I mean is get the ones with the thermal sensor built in.Mike
*many can manufacturer make their models with and without housings that allow direct contact with insulation. describe the situation to the manufacturer's tech. rep and also your local inspector, and see what they have to say.
