To my Canadian friends here (gosh, I hope at least someone thinks they qualify!!), what is the USD equivalent to $250,000 Canadian? Isn’t it something like a 1 USD: 1.6 Canadian or some such?
Thank you.

Thanks Joe.
So? Curious why you asked.
He's got an Eskimo convinced a cement igloo is the way to go. They're negotiating the delivery charge now.

Unfortunately, it was a Winnipeg family who wanted to build a 6,000 sf dome, and that was their budget. $25/sf complete? I don't think so. Now I have to go and disappoint them. As I posted, I was hoping against hope that I was dropping a decimal somewhere. Shoot. Nice family. Just not being realistic. That's the kind of news I just hate to break to someone. Any suggestions?

Cloud Hidden, they're living in fantasyland, not Canada. Tract stick builders in Toronto do it for maybe as low as $65/ft, finished product. Custom builders go $200/ft easily, and I'm not talking granite floored mansions. Land is cheaper in Winnipeg, but the cost of building isn't going to be. Some people just don't know what stuff costs...and are too ignorant to find out.

Tim
Thanks. I've toned their expectations down considerably. Don't know if it's enough yet...
