I used a Hitachi cap nailer on one job (15# felt on roof). Anyone ever use it without caps for small asphalt roofing sections? Does it take regular coil roofing nails? Or just the ring shanks used with the caps? (are those galvanized?)
Also, any suggestions on a roofing membrane to go under EPDM (this is a 1/12 pitch, and may be fighting winter weather before the EPDM goes on).

I own that gun.
I do not believe the (pawl?) will feed regular collated roofing nails through it---- but i have never tried.
however---even if it did-- the gun is so poorly balanced i can't imagine using it for extended periods such as laying shingles-----it's bad enough using it for 10-15 minutes felting in.
