Hi folks,
Can you guys tell me where I can see some Cape Cod home plans?
I’ve searched online but came up with very little. Ditto the bookstores. Most of what I have seen is some kind of contemporary interpretation. I haven’t seen much in the way of traditional looking capes.
Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chris...tryout this site(sorry' I don't know how to actually post it.) http://www.dongardner.com
*Capes are more commonly referred to as 1 1/2 floor home plans...at least @ the Gardner site.
*Chris.. here's a site by a guy who specializes in Capes.. and he lives on the Cape..http://www.capecod.net/cad/cad%20design.htm#CAD DESIGNS
*Question for the finish carpenter. I just looked at a job that the almish built. and when they put the windows in (by the way it is a log house) they rough framed the windows 4 to 6 inches on each side to big. any suggestions on how to trim the windows out? but she wants to stay away from 1x6 or1x4 cedar, pine. she wants to try to have some sort of re. casing. not to sure what to do. any suggestions welcome. thanks Tim
*This site has some nice little Capes more along traditional lines I think. http://cadsmith.com/JonC
*Chris- A book I've found useful for authentic cape designs is:"The Framed Houses of Massachusetts Bay, 1625-1725"by Abbott Lowell Cummings, copyright 1979ISBN 0-674-31681-9good luck!
*Chris -If you would be interested in a package, Bow House, Inc. offers a wide variety of variations. You can request a folder; they dont have the plans on their site:http://www.bowhouse.com/index.htmlIf you want to look at book with a number of Cape Cods, check to see if your library has anything by Royal Barry Wills. Wills designed Cape Cod style houses from the 30's through the 60's, and his books were widely published.
