Anyone know were to find the best deal on Carhartts?
I just got a couple of new pairs of Carhartt 7.5oz canvas pants (#151) and I gotta say I really like them a lot!
Much more comfortable than my jeans (which I always get pre-washed), cooler, and a much more refined look. I don’t usually buy/wear Carhartt pants since I tried a pair many years ago and soon realized it would take 2-10 years till they would be broke in enough to be comfortable.
I don’t expect that the 151 style pants will last as long as the old 12oz style but i’m thinking they will last longer than my pre-washed jeans (4-6 mos.).
Since I am the type of guy who likes his clothes to be uniform/ wear the same thing everyday I want to buy several more pair, so……anyone know where I can get them for REALLY CHEAP?
I got mine at Sears on sale for $36/pr.
Thanks

Is there a Carhartt factory outlet in Mexico? I see that's where they are made...which rates much better than China in my book.Since I cannot seriously go to Mexico to buy pants, you got any real ideas?DC
Some are still made here in KY AFAIK, so we have outlets that are a bit cheaper, but not by a lot. The only CH's I wear any more are bibs and coveralls.
I quit buying them a few yrs ago when I discoved the Firehose pants at Duluth Trading. And recently strayed away from them...sizeing issues mostly. I need a 32x36 and a long 36 at that.
LA Police Gear that Sancho is always talking about has better wearing cargo pants for MUCH better prices, been shopping there for 2 yrs now.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

I may be either weird or excessively frugal but I get used Carhartts on eBay all the time. Just have to be patient, you can get them gently used for half price or less and they'll last a long time. I have a pair of Carhartt denim carpenter jeans that I bought close to ten years ago and they are still going strong - they get worn at least two days every week, usually when I'm doing heavy work around the yard and woods.
Other than that - might want to try Tractor Supply or a place online called Contractor's Clothing Carhartt Store.
I looked on Ebay and out of the 19 pairs of carhartt pants that would fit me, only 1 was the B151 style that I want.....and that pair was BIN for $39.99 + $7.10 shipping! Then I looked at ContractorsClothing.com and they want $50.22 delivered!!!!!so, neither of those are going to happen.Got any better sources?DCEdit: I just noticed that Contractor's Clothing is in Detroit area; but even w/o delivery charges the price was $38/pr.

Do you have any Bob's retail stores in your area?"Shawdow boxing the appoclipse and wandering the land"

Ya beat me to it.
I get Carharts at Bob's. Almost always running a sale, or have a 10-25% off coupon. Don't recall the price I bought my last pair at, but I'm thinking on sale around $25.
Wore Levi's for years, really like the Carharts better. Mo' room in the nether regions when stretching across a large divide, etc. No more embarrassing crotch-splitting episodes. While disapointing for the co-workers, better for me...;)

try the sportsman's guide. They always have deals on carhartts.

Search by brand
I have carhartts but I also get the dickie at wally world, you cant tell them apart at half the price, same material, same cut and style
Carhartts are nice, but,
I've found these cheep "Signature" brand jeans from Costco to be significantly well built. Thick material, heavy duty stitching. What? $12.99?
Another ten bucks to have them shortened to normal size.
we have no costco around here
I don't really care for carhartt pants, but their lightweight shorts are nice. I get 'em here:http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Carhartt-Jeans-and-Pants.htmlhttp://www.tvwsolar.com

Can't beat the costco jeans. I have always been able to find my size so no need to shorten. I prefer carhartts in hot weather to jeans. I stay cooler in them.Last time I was in PDX with my wife she browsed the used clothing stores and I got a barely used pair of carhartts for $12.Karl
what's really cheap? <G> I can get them at a local place for 34.00 regular price.
it's G&L Clothing. buy all of my workclothes and coats there. good service

You might also want to try the B11 style, they are the heavier duck but are prewashed and pretty comfortable from the get go.
I buy most of my stuff fromDUNGAREES.net. They carry the complete line and sizes.I have also purchased from TheWorkingPersonstore.com, The workwearstore.com, and Gemplers.com.
Believe it or not....JCPenny catalog. If you sign up or their e-mail they seem to send you a discount coupon every week....

I like those people at Kittery Trading post. Prices are maybe higher.
I would definetly try a pair of the firehose pants from Duluth, before wasting anymore money on Carharts. They are a thousand times more comfortable than Carhartts, and they come out of the dryer without needing ironed.
The firehose material is unbelievably soft, and durable. I bought 5 pairs of the logger style in December, and they don't have a single hole yet. Carhartts, and Dickies knees wear out in about 3 months for me.
I'll never by Carhart again.
It's not too late, it's never too late.
Sierra trading post
Sierra Trading Post seems to offer the best deal on the pants I'm looking for. As a bonus they also have a great deal on my socks too (Wigwam merino wool hiker lites). Thanks to all who responded. To those who recommended pants other than the Carhartt B151 I suggest you pick up a pair to try. If you don't like them you could wear them as casual dress pants instead.Head over to Amazon and check out their reviews.BTW: I have thought about trying the Duluth fire hose pants but I decided instead to just boycott the company for raising their prices while lowering their quality over the years. I even called them to suggest that they lower their prices by not sending me a catalog every week. They could also try photographing their products, sometimes the comic book drawings don't give the proper detail.DC
I just ordered 8 pair from Sierra Trading Post. They emailed me a 30% off coupon. I ended up getting them for under $14 a pair. Can't beat that!!I've been working in the B151's for the past few days; 85-90 degree days.Been doing demo, framing, concrete work, and roofing. They seem to be holding up well and are noticeably cooler than blue jeans.I am also really enjoying the pocket configuration.Again, I recommend all you guys to give these a try.DC
Sierra Trading Post just sent me another 30% off coupon...except this one says "TAKE AN EXTRA 30% OFF one item!".I hope I'm not that guy who took advantage and screwed things up for everyone else. We'll see if future coupons say the same thing.DC
Thanks a lot. They just sent me a coupon for 1% off of half an item. It's all your fault!
Seriously, how are they holding up?
Been debating between these and the duluth firehose pants for a while now.

I gotta say, I love 'em.Out of the 10 pair I have now, I have been rotating 5 pair. I wear them everyday, even off days. They are immensely comfortable.I've been putting an addition on an old pole barn, lots of demo, framing, metal, hopping all over the roof in the direct sun all day. I'm not saying I am cool as A/C but I did switch over to shorts for a day and couldn't tell a heat difference. My shins were another story. All that hopping around, up and down through the purlins and over metal edges really takes a toll on bare legs. This is in the middle of the forest too, so I don't need to mention the mosquito problems. I could go on and on. I am enamored and surprised that a simple pair of pants could make such an impact on my work.Needless to say, I recommend these pants; especially if you can get a good deal on them.DC
Just got another discount notice in my email from Sierra Trading Post, I think it applies to everyone though - 40% off select items, one day only.It appears the pants I've been recommending are included. That means you can pick them up for less than $15 before shippingMaybe worth a try for anyone?DC
Reminds me of the old Michael Jackson joke: What does the Neverland Ranch have in common with Walmart?Boy's pants, half off.***************Sorry, and RIP, MJ.AitchKay
I believe I saw them at a Meijer for $32 or so. Not sure if the Meijer chain reaches to Michigan - I'm in central Ohio.]

Meijer's was founded in Grand Rapids which is their headquarters. The best things in life aren't things.
Actually, Miejer is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan
In North Carolina, on I-95, at exit #99, there is a place called the Apparel Shop. (Right next to JR's -- behind the Denny's).
Usually have good discounts on Carhartts -- I get all mine there.
Carhartts are great, but try the Dickies duck work pants- they last as long as Carhartts and are only $17/ pair at Wallyworld (I know everyone hates wallyworld, but for these pants I make an exception)
